I bought this set because I needed a high quality heavy duty yet comfortable set of 1/2" drive sockets. And that's exactly what I got with this product. The entire set is highly polished with heavy chrome so it looks and feels great. Although I love this socket set I do have two cons...the ratchet wrench does not have a quick release feature; in fact many ratchet wrenches in the Gearwrench line don't have quick release. With the 1/2 inch drive it's not a real big deal because the sockets are so heavy they are easily removed but it would be more important for the smaller size drives. Almost every other manufacturer incorporates quick release so I can't understand why Gearwrench doesn't on some of their sets. The other con is that the well made case does not have a handle. This set weighs 18 lbs so why is there no handle? Makes carrying the tools more difficult from my tool room to the work site. The case is only 2 1/2 inches tall though so it fits in tool drawers easily. Also the latches are very strong and when opened stay opened. There is nothing flimsy about this product. As I said though the tools are exceptional and I got the quality I was looking for. So much so that I also purchased the 3/8 inch set.
